His books have been translated into over 40 languages. The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, have been adapted into feature films. Many Chinese readers admire him for the Da Vinci Code, a mystery-detective fiction novel that combines semiology, European art, history and architecture.

Brown earned 18 million yuan (2.7 million US dollars) in royalties in the Chinese mainland over the past ten years through 2010.
