About 9.33 million students registered to take the annual national college entrance exams, or gaokao, on June 7 and 8 this year, hoping to enter their ideal universities. It is fact that graduating from a prestigious university will help students find a better job, and therefore many students and their parents are very cautious when choosing a university.

Netbig.com, a university ranking website, published the list of the top 100 universities of China for 2011, the 12th of its kind since 1999, aiming to provide a reference for students when choosing a university to attend.

Tsinghua University, Peking University and Zhejiang University take the first three spots on the list. The ranking surveyed universities for five index including prestige, academic resources, academic achievements, students enrollment, and faculty.
