The Art of War is the world's oldest and most influential book on military strategy. It's a 7,000-character treatise written by Sun Tzu, an outstanding ancient Chinese military strategist and philosopher from the late Spring and Autumn period (770-476 B.C.). The book unveils the general rules of war and proposes an array of specific military strategies and tactics. The book consists of 13 chapters, each of which is focused on one facet of warfare. Over more than 2,500 years, the book has exerted immense influence on both Eastern and Western military thinking. It has been translated into more than 15 languages and is still read worldwide for its brilliant and inspiring insights. It's also applied to many other fields far beyond the military, including politics, business, corporate management, sports and education.
