Global Times (環(huán)球時報)

The Beijing-based Global Times is a daily tabloid published by the People's Daily. Founded in January 1993, its hawkish commentary and penchant for controversial international affairs coverage have earned it a circulation of 1.35 million. In April 2009, the paper began publishing an English edition. The paper publishes websites featuring content from its Chinese and English editions. An electronic copy of the English edition is available free; the Chinese edition offers paid digital subscriptions.
