She married Charles, Prince of Wales, in 1981 and divorced him in 1996. She was famous for her relentless international charity work, with her mere presence at a fund-raiser causing a donation-frenzy. In the 1990s, she once auctioned off 79 of her dresses, donating all revenues to charity. People adored her for her warm smile, elegance, style and humanity. Sadly, she died in a car accident in 1997, which caused never before scenes of mourning across the world.
