Auction Revenue:US$ 77.1 million

Wu Changshuo (1844-1927), born in Anji County of Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, was the key artist when Chinese painting transferred from modern painting to contemporary painting.

However, money did not necessarily follow his works. The honor of highest selling price for one of his works went to "Twelve Folding Screens of Flowers" (137cm × 48cm × 12) in 2010 at US$5.54 million. Even during the art market boom in 2011, his work performed very stable on the high-end market and the highest price fetched for one of them was US$4.31 million. The best result of 2012 came for his "Album of Flowers" ("Bi Zhou Zi Zhen Ce" in Chinese) (32×39cm×11), which fetched US$3.02 million.
