Site description:

The great global oil dependency has turned the Niger River Delta into a victim. Since 1950, the densely populated region that extends over 70,000 square kilometers has been polluted by at least 240,000 barrels of crude oil every year. The local fishing industries, the crops in the swamp area and people's health have all been affected.
