As we are watching the intense Olympic competition in Sotchi unfold, we must not underestimate the beauty that shines from within the female athletes themselves.

With the Sochi Winter Olympic Games nearing their end, we couldn't let the event pass without publishing a list of the 15 most beautiful female athletes competing. They bring us both intense competition as well as the literal beauty of sports.

Unlike prim and properly groomed models who are used to posing in the spotlights, female athletes are mostly busy working up a sweat. They simply don't have the time to visit a spa, put on makeup or fix their hair. What we see is their natural beauty shining through.

One Russian sports magazine recently published a report listing the 15 most beautiful female athletes partaking in the Sochi Olympics. Kim Yuna, a South Korean figure skater, topped the list, followed by American alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn and Finnish figure skater Kiira Korpi.
