Forbes China recently published its 2014 Top 100 China Charity List, the ninth of its kind, based on the philanthropists' donations last year.

The 100 philanthropists on the list made a total of 4.46 billion yuan (US$713.73 million), a slight drop from last year's 4.65 billion yuan (US$744.13 million). The threshold of the list reached 5 million yuan (US$800,130), more than the 4.2 million yuan (US$672,123) last year. Twelve of those on the list made a donation of over 100 million yuan (US$16 million) each. Their donations accounted for 51.4 percent of the total amount.

Wang Jianlin, chairman of the Dalian Wanda Group, one of China's largest real estate developers, topped the list, with total donations of 438 million yuan (US$70.09 million) in 2013. He also claimed the title of the richest person on the Chinese mainland.
