Blockchain is a term in the information technology sector. A blockchain is a shared database and a growing list of records that are linked using cryptography. Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data. It has characteristics such as being tamper-proof, traceable, open and transparent. On Oct. 24, 2019, during a study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, the blockchain was highlighted and stressed as an important breakthrough step for "independent innovation in core technologies," while accelerated development of blockchain technology and industrial innovation was demanded. The technology has become a focus of attention.
