Pikachu is a yellow rodent-like species in Pokémon, an assortment of video games, animated TV shows and movies featuring a world of fictional creatures and licensed by Japan's The Pokémon Company.

The central character in the Pokémon anime series, Pikachu is regarded as the mascot of the Pokémon franchise and an icon of Japanese pop culture in recent years.
