Many people take some time to observe the colorful lanterns, hung on the streets everywhere, on this day. Here are seven places to enjoy the most unusual ones in Beijing.

Feb. 17 to 18. Admission: 20 yuan

The Beijing Garden of World's Flowers is having a lantern fair themed around flowers. Half of the 20 lantern groups are flower-shaped, resembling tulips, peonies and peach blossoms. The most attractive one is the Olympic rings lantern, which is composed of 300 colorful tulip lanterns. Another highlight of the lantern display is the use of the low-carbon material, such as energy-saving light bulbs and solar energy electricity. Nine peacock lanterns made of 100,000 waste glass bottles make up the largest group of lanterns in the world made of waste material.
