On September 3, Li Xiushan, an 88-year-old veteran from Xibaisha Village, Pingdu City of Qingdao, was very excited on the spot of the military parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of counter-Japanese war. Though Li was arranged to sit, he couldn't help standing up and saluted for three times.

The old man was too excited to sleep well the day before. He got up early on that day, changed the white shirt and new trousers just bought in his hometown, and came to the viewing stand after breakfast.

The old man stood up and saluted when the National Anthem was played at ten firstly. Then the military parade started, he saluted again when the square of his former troop drew near. Later he saluted to the Chairman Xi after he inspected the troops and passed by the reviewing stand.

The veterans, the descendants of the heroes and martyrs, the young flag-bearer of the troop from Qingdao all attend the parade, and all their families feel very honorable. Dong Chengsen, a veteran also from Pingdu was so excited that he even choked with sobs several times.
