In China, 60 percent of portable batteries are embedded with chips produced by Qingdao-based Eastsoft Co, for the excellent performances of the chip products.

Specializing in power line carrier communication, the company developed its own high-speed narrowband chips for reading electricity meter, which broke the foreign monopolization.

200 million chips, or 40 percent of the total, that were used in State Grid’s renovation of electricity data collection system, were supplied by the company. It has also been enlisted to provide broadband carrier communication products for the renovation project in its second stage which started this year.

Besides meter measure chips, the company developed new generation Bluetooth chips and security chips in recent years and has been made partner of Apple Inc. in manufacturing, product development and software development. Its microcontroller units function in temperatures ranging widely from minus 40 to 105 degrees Celsius.

After gaining dominance in carrier communication, it started expanding into integrated circuit chips and smart home devices.
