You may know the world's first feature film was made by Lumiere brothers in 1895. But you might not know that China's first feature film that still exists was shot in the early 1920s.

Now, the film has been revived in hi-definition format by the China Film Archives Museum. And recently, it was released to some movie buffs there. Let's join them for a screening.

Surprisingly, the film is still in good shape. "The Labours' Love" was shot by China Star Film Studio upon its establishment in 1922. It tells about simple love stories of some factory workers and is filled with slapstick comedy and even features a funny marriage proposal.

An audience member said, "The staff members told us they have repaired the scratches and spots on the film, so it is fine to watch. Then we can easily follow the story."

Because the material used for shooting a film at that time was prone to decay, the other prints of "The Labours' Love" were all severely damaged. Today, this is the only copy known to exist.
