Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Sunday morning urged the anti-government red-shirts to stop blocking roads in central Bangkok's business area and return to their main rally site Phan Fa Bridge.

Speaking on TV, Abhisit said an order issued by the Peace- keeping Operations Command Saturday for the protesters to leave the Rathchprasong Intersection remains effective, but the government would not use force to disperse the rally.

He said the order is aimed to tell the protesters that their rally is illegal as it is causing hardship and damage to others.

Abhisit also called on the Bangkok citizens who had fed up with the red-shirted protesters to remain patient, while the government is trying to solve the political conflict.

Abhisit reiterated that the dissolution of the Lower House of parliament within 15 days which the red-shirts have been demanding "won't solve the problem".

The Peace-Keeping Operation Command late Saturday ordered the red-shirts to disperse or face arrest and fine as their mass rally violated law by disrupting the traffic and commerce.

Tens of thousands of red-shirted protesters, mainly supporters of the ousted former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra, occupied the Rathchprasong Intersection Saturday morning as their mass rally to push the government to dissolve parliament and call early election entered the fourth week.
