China and the United States will hold the next round of human rights dialogue on May 13-14 in Washington, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu?Tuesday.

Officials from the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the U.S. Department of State will exchange views on related issues, Jiang told a regular press conference here.

During U.S. President Barack Obama's visit to China last November, the two sides agreed to hold the next round of human rights dialogue in Washington by the end of February 2010. But the dialogue was delayed due to the U.S. arms sales to Taiwan and Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama early this year.

Jiang also told the press conference that the second China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue will be held in late May, adding that the two sides will discuss strategic, overall and long-term issues of common concern in Beijing, so as to deepen their mutual understanding and trust, and promote cooperation between the two sides.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will come to Beijing to attend the dialogue, Jiang added.
