The Occupy movement began in New York in mid-September with Occupy Wall Street. Similar protests have since spread to dozens of U.S. cities and more than 900 cities in 80 countries around the world. Though a leaderless movement that has yet to make clear demands, the protests have come to symbolize the mass disillusionment with what protestors see as unchecked corporate greed, social inequality and their political enablers.
