Senior officials of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) met on Thursday afternoon to discuss the further development of bilateral ties.

Li Changchun (R), a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, meets with Dinh The Huynh, a member of the Political Bureau and secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, in Beijing, capital of China, Dec. 1, 2011. Beefing up unity and cooperation between the two countries will facilitate common development of the two countries and invigorate the socialist cause, said Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

He said this while meeting with Dinh The Huynh, a member of the Political Bureau and secretariat of the CPV Central Committee.

"The CPC and the Chinese government have always viewed China-Vietnam relations from a strategic and long-term perspective," Li said.

He said that the Chinese side is ready to join hands with the Vietnamese side to promote the long-term, stable and sound development of bilateral relations.

Huynh said the CPV is working to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both parties to promote the healthy and stable development of Vietnam-China relations.

Huynh, who is in China for a three-day seminar on party theory, referred to the event as an important way to promote the development of party-to-party relations.

The seminar concluded on Wednesday in the city of Changzhou in east China's Jiangsu province. It was the seventh of its kind held by the two parties.
