The Indian parliament Friday rejected Pakistani National Assembly's resolution condemning the execution of the 2001 Indian parliament attack's main conspirator Afzal Guru last month at a prison in the Indian capital.

Speaker of Lok Sabha (Lower House) Meira Kumar moved a resolution "totally rejecting" the Pakistani National Assembly's resolution on Thursday.

The Indian parliament's resolution said that any country interfering in this country's internal affairs would be met with " a resolute and united response".

Earlier, Members of Parliament from the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) urged the Indian government to stop dialogue with Pakistan in protest.

"Besides interfering in India's internal affairs, the resolution is an official statement by the entire polity of Pakistan endorsing the terrorist attacks," said BJP's Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha (Upper House) Arun Jaitley.

Guru, a native of Indian-controlled Kashmir, was executed last month at Tihar jail in the Indian capital, after Indian President Pranab Mukherjee rejected his clemency plea. He was buried inside the jail.

He had been on death row since 2002 and always denied plotting the 2001 attack in which 14 people, including five militants who had stormed the Indian parliament, were killed.

Pakistan's National Assembly Thursday passed a resolution condemning Guru's hanging and demanded the return of his body to his family.
