Fujian has entered a new development stage and is working toward the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects under the guidance of the CPC's new vision, thinking and strategies for better national governance, according to You Quan, secretary of Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

He said President Xi Jinping had worked in Fujian from 1985 to 2002. Xi had been leading the officials in many places in the province during the 17 and a half years, when China was undergoing significant development stages under the reform and opening-up policy. He had gained penetrating insights about the national situation and developed profound ideas on governance.

Many of Xi's thoughts and ideas were closely related to his working experiences at the grassroots, including Fujian. His concern for the people, historic responsibility, strategic thinking, innovation and strong will had proved to be a precious legacy for Fujian.

The province would continue to implement the CPC's new concepts, thoughts and strategies related to the governance of China, unswervingly follow the path of the socialism with Chinese characteristics and deepen reform and expand opening-up, therefore promoting provincial development to a new stage.
