VIENTIANE, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union has launched the 2025 Lao Youth Festival, encouraging the new generation to take a leading role in advancing digital innovation.
The festival is being held from Wednesday to Sunday in the Lao capital Vientiane in support of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP)'s directives, government policies, and the Youth Development Strategy for 2021-2030, Lao National Radio reported on Thursday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Monxay Laomuasong, secretary-general of Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union's Central Committee, said the festival offers young people from all ethnic groups an opportunity to share ideas, build digital knowledge, and celebrate youth contributions.
The event aims to create a supportive environment for youth to showcase their talents, exchange experiences, and access valuable information. It also serves as a platform to reflect on the Party's achievements, recognize young entrepreneurs, and foster learning through discussions, exhibitions, and competitions.
Activities throughout the festival include youth-led product exhibitions, forums, live performances, essay contests, children's sports, and art competitions.
Monxay also expressed the confidence that the festival would raise awareness of the vital role youth play in national development. He encouraged participants to continue fostering positive conditions that support youth growth, helping them become responsible and capable future leaders.
He emphasized that the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union remains committed to empowering young people, promoting their active participation in national development, and protecting their rights and interests. Enditem
