KABUL, June 26 (Xinhua) -- A total of 769 Afghan nationals previously held in Pakistani prisons have been released and returned to their homeland over the past week, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced on Thursday.
According to the ministry, the released individuals, including women and children, were handed over to Afghan authorities at the Torkham crossing point in eastern Nangarhar province and the Spin Boldak crossing in southern Kandahar province.
The former inmates, after receiving assistance at the border points, were transported to their respective home provinces, the ministry added. Enditem
