NEW DELHI, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Two Naxals were killed in a gunfight with government forces in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, the police said Thursday.
The gunfight between Naxals and joint contingents of police broke out inside the Abhujmaad forest area of Narayanpur district, about 271 km south of Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh.
According to a senior police official, the bodies of Naxals have been recovered, along with the two assault rifles from the spot. "The search operation is underway in the area."
The operation was launched on specific intelligence information suggesting the presence of Naxals in the area, the police said. Enditem
