BEIRUT, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Two members of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah were killed on Thursday in two separate Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, according to local media and security sources.
According to Lebanon's official National News Agency, an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle at the western entrance of the village of Bayt Lif in southern Lebanon, killing one person.
In a separate incident, another Israeli drone strikes a bulldozer between the villages of Shaqra and Baraachit, resulting in one fatality, according to the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health.
A Lebanese security confirmed to Xinhua that both victims were Hezbollah members.
These developments come despite a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel, in effect since Nov. 27, 2024, which ended more than a year of hostilities sparked by the war in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military continues to carry out occasional strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are intended to eliminate Hezbollah threats. Enditem
