NEW DELHI, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Two women Naxals were killed in a gunfight with government forces in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, police said Thursday.
The gunfight between Naxals and joint contingents of police broke out inside the Abujhmad forest area of Narayanpur district, about 271 km south of Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh.
According to a senior police official P Sundarraj, the bodies of Naxals have been recovered, along with the two assault rifles from the spot.
"The search operation is underway in the area," he said.
Police have not suffered any damage in the stand-off. Enditem
