CAIRO, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot discussed on Thursday night the latest developments in Gaza following the recent ceasefire between Iran and Israel, according to an Egyptian Foreign Ministry statement on Friday.
The two sides stressed the importance of resuming negotiations of the Gaza ceasefire deal and delivering relief aid to the Strip amid its severely deteriorated humanitarian conditions.
They also discussed the Egypt-Qatari-U.S. efforts in this regard.
The Egyptian foreign minister urged the international community to take its role to stop the Israeli offensive in Gaza and the West Bank.
The two ministers also discussed recognizing the Palestinian state by France.
The surprise Israeli attack on Iran derailed France's plans to recognize a Palestinian state, which was supposed to take place last week at the United Nations conference in New York. Enditem
