Trail of the Panda, which made its mainland debut on May 8th, 2009, is collaboration between Disney and Beijing-based Ying Dong Media. Featuring real pandas and a 10-year-old Chinese-Japanese child actor, the film tells the story of an orphan named Lu, who finds a lost panda cub and embarks on a tough journey to bring it home. Directed by Yu Zhong, the 90-minute feature film was shot around Siguniang Mountain, Balang Mountain and Wolong Giant Panda Nature Reserve in Sichuan. Six panda cubs were used to portray Pangpang, the animal star of the film.
