Zhang Chenglong , a rising star well-known for his superb performance on the horizontal bar and parallel bars, edged into the Chinese men's gymnastics squad for the upcoming London Olympic Games, which includes such famous names as Zou Kai, Chen Yibing, Teng Haibin and Feng Zhe. He is considered the contestant with the greatest potential, after Yangwei, to be a strong all-rounder in London.

2010 was a fruitful year for Zhang: He achieved his first world championship title by winning the horizontal bar final at the 42nd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam. He also won the floor exercises and the horizontal bar finals, as well as the men's team championship title at the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China in the same year.
