In August 2011, Starbucks announced that Wang Jingying would become the leading force in driving the company's increased growth in its so-called second home market—China. Before taking on the position, Wang was general manager of Coffee Concepts, a joint venture of Starbucks and Maxim's. She was responsible for the Starbucks overall business strategy and brand development in Hong Kong, as well as the operation of 110 stores in both Hong Kong and Macau.

Till 2012, Wang has been working in Starbucks branches in China, Singapore and the overall Asia-Pacific region for more than 12 years. At present, the coffee chain has opened more than 700 stores on Chinese mainland, and its vision by 2015 is to open over 1,500 stores in the area, according to Wang.
